WSS, three innocuous letters that could potentially save the free world as we now know it.
It stands for: ‘World Security Service’ and is something that is long overdue. It wasn’t until the wakeup call of 9/11 that the United States realized that there was a need for a ‘Homeland Security’ department with far reaching powers. And on June 29, 05 President Bush created the hierarchy position of ‘National Security Service’, which was born out of the recommendations of the WMD panel, report. This new service will: “Specialize in intelligence and other national security matters.” Headed by John Negroponte, the NSS will meld various Intelligence Services within the U.S. under one umbrella. Why? Because very simply put, the U.S. recognized that these protectionist agencies were not sharing intelligence information.
One of this world’s greatest leaders recognized the dangers of complacency when at the end of World War II, Winston Churchill wrote, “And so the great democracies triumphed, and so were able to resume the follies that had nearly cost them their lives.”
Sir Winston Churchill
The long needed World Security Service will share worldwide
intelligence information on a timely basis and by doing so could potentially
save tens of thousands of innocent lives around the world; lives that have
done nothing more than been in the wrong place at the wrong time, walking
or taking public transit to put in another hard day of work in order to
provide a good life for their families.
What countries should be members of such an organization? Well, for a start, at least the G8 countries. Later on as the new agency gains experience, additional countries can be invited to join.
Also, I would suggest Toronto, Canada as a World Headquarters. Canada is a country that has a history of world peacekeepers throughout its entire existence.
The concept of a WSS is not new to the world. In 1940 Prime Minister Winston Churchill ordered the creation of the SOE, (Special Operations Executive) which saw the Allies slice up the intelligence ‘world pie’ giving Britain and most of Europe to (Sir) Colonel Colin Gubbins and the Balkans, North & South America, to a brilliant Canadian from Winnipeg, Manitoba, (Sir) William Stephenson who in turn worked closely and shared information with Bill Donovan of the O.S.S. (forerunner of the present day CIA)
Through his headquarters in Rockefeller Centre, Bill Stephenson compiled intelligence information for President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill. This critical intelligence was channeled through the now famous ‘Hydra’ operation of the top secret ‘Camp-X’.
It is quite fitting that the acronym of WSS just happens
to be the initials for William Samuel Stephenson.
